IAIRO is India’s own engine where deep research turns into real-world impact. Designed as an ecosystem from day one, we build both the talent and the technology needed for true sovereign AI.
Build: Develop foundational and applied AI for India’s most critical sectors starting with Pharma, Health, Sustainability, and Education. The work is led by returning and partnering global faculty and powered by world-class researchers and engineers across the country.
Bridge: Bring researchers, industry, startups, and government into one shared workflow so innovation doesn’t stall in the lab. We provide data access, compute infrastructure, partnerships, and talent pathways that carry ideas from early research into functioning AI systems.
Deploy: Take prototypes all the way to production. We co-develop AI platforms with partners, transfer IP, and scale solutions - creating India’s pipeline from lab breakthroughs to national-scale and global products.

Answering the Prime Minister’s call to nation-build, I have returned to India after 44 years in the United States, having trained over 55 PhDs and postdocs and built multiple global technology ventures to contribute to this mission.
Together with an exceptional team of researchers, technologists, and entrepreneurs, we aim to position India as a global hub for responsible, frugal, and cutting-edge AI innovation, and help transform our country into a true product nation.
